AmazonSmile is a simple way for anyone to support a nonprofit organization. Every time someone makes a purchase on Amazon in the app or at smile.amazon.com, 0.5% of every purchase will be donated to your nonprofit. Not only should your nonprofit be utilizing AmazonSmile as an added line of revenue, but your supporters should be encouraged to use this tool in a “set it and forget it” kind of way using bookmarks and marketing tools.

Eligibility

To be eligible for AmazonSmile, an organization must be:

  • Registered and in good standing with the IRS as a 501(c)(3)

  • Have a current profile on GuideStar.org

  • Public charitable organizations (not private foundations)

  • Located in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands

  • Able to submit bank account information online to receive donation payments

Spreading the Word
Using your preferred methods for communicating with supporters (i.e. email, text, and social media), share your org’s unique charity link assigned to you once you’ve become registered with AmazonSmile.

You will also want to share this chrome extension to always make sure supporters are using your charity link when they shop on Amazon.
