(Postponed) Getting Your Board on Board

Getting Your Board on Board with THE BOARD DOCTOR – Dr. Bev Browning

This event has been postponed. Please contact us for a refund or credit towards a future event.

About this event

In this 90-minute webinar, Dr. Bev Browning will talk about the required roles of a nonprofit organization's board of directors. It's not always easy to get your board on board and have them operating as a Board on Fire, making proactive decisions, and contributing 10-15 hours per month carrying out their board responsibilities. Dr. Browning has trained nonprofit boards throughout North America, and most share the same failure-to-perform habits. It's not always the entire board; it's one of two board members that want to be on your board in name only.

Topics Covered

  • Appreciating the duties of a nonprofit board of directors

  • Governing board roles

  • Recruiting the right people for your board

  • Incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion in the board's composition

  • Keeping it fresh: terms of service – adhering to or changing your by-laws

  • Big board or little boards

  • Using the board to your full capacity

  • Encouraging commitment from board members

  • Holding effective board meetings

  • Learning Objectives

  • Increased understanding of the roles of a nonprofit board of directors

  • Increased awareness of how to quickly get your board on board and become a board on fire (making the best decisions for the sustainability of your nonprofit organization)

  • Increased productivity and collaboration between board members, founders, and executive directors

Bonus Materials

  • Full webinar recording

  • Related handouts

  • Certificate of completion
